Macromedia Flash
Introduction
Course Objectives

This course is designed to provide you with the basics of dealing creating animations for use on the Internet with Macromedia Flash. You will learn about vector graphics, how to use the drawing and text tools in Flash to create objects, how to animate objects and use sound, and exporting a Flash movie.

Pre-requisites

Delegates should be familiar with basic Windows 95 or above operation or Apple Macintosh OS8 or above.

Vector Images
Understanding vector graphics and the difference with bit-mapped graphics.

Flash Basics
The main window, Toolbars, Palettes, changing the view.

Drawing
Using the drawing tools to create objects.

Painting
Using the painting tools to create objects.

Text
Using the type tool to create text objects.

Editing
Modifying object colours and shapes.

Layers
Working with layers to build up an animation.

Symbols and Instances
Creating symbols and using instances in an animation.

Animation
Using the timeline to animate objects including movement, fading, sizing and colour transitions.

Sound
Adding sound to an animation.

Publishing a Movie
Exporting a Flash movie for use in a web site.

Macromedia Flash
Intermediate
Course Objectives This course is designed to provide you with an advanced knowledge of Macromedia Flash and its tools. You will learn how to morph shapes using shape tweening, use scenes, add interactivity to a Flash movie, use masks and create a 'loader' animation.
Pre-requisites Delegates should be familiar with Macromedia Flash and its basic operation including drawing and painting tools, modifying objects, symbols, instances, the timeline and exporting Flash movies.

Movie Clips
Creating and using Movie Clips within a main movie.

Buttons
Adding interactivity to a Flash movie and controlling how an animation runs with buttons.

Bitmap Images
Importing and using bitmap images in a Flash movie.

Shape Tweening
Using morphing in an animation to change shapes.

Mask Layers
Using Masks to create effects on animations.

Motion Guides
Using a motion guide to plot a path for an animation object.

Scenes
Using scenes to make a movie more manageable.

Interactive Movies
Using Actions to allow the user to interact with a Movie.

Streaming
Using Streaming and the Bandwidth Profiler to ensure a movie plays smoothly.
