Introduction
Course Objectives

You will learn how to create a basic web site using FrontPage tools, including Hyperlinks, Images, Tables and use of the FrontPage web site Management tools. Also, you will learn how to publish a web site onto the Internet or an Intranet.

Pre-requisites Delegates should be familiar with basic Windows 95 or above, or Apple Macintosh OS8 or above operation.

Getting Started
Starting FrontPage and selecting a web site or creating a new one.

Page Background
Formatting and background of pages with images and colours, and defining default colours for text.

Advanced
Course Objectives This course is designed to instruct you how to use the advanced HTML features of FrontPage. You will learn how to submit your web site to Search Engines properly, create Hyperlinks targeting positions within pages from hot-spots on images, Cascading Style Sheets formatting the whole web site, forms to obtain information from visitors to your site, reassembling the web site to make use of Frames and adding dynamic content such as time stamps and hit counters.
Pre-requisites Delegates should be familiar with the basic functions of FrontPage including using FrontPage Explorer and Editor, Formatting Text, Inserting Images, Creating Hyperlinks, Using Shared Borders, Creating and Formatting Tables and Publishing a Web.

Controlling how a web site is indexed by a Search Engine using <META> tags and page formatting.

Cascading Style Sheets
Using inline, embedded and external stylesheets to change the formatting characteristics of HTML tags and creating custom formatting using CLASS and ID.

Defining areas of an image as Hyperlinks.

Bookmarks
Creating anchors within HTML files and targeting them with internal and external Hyperlinks.

Forms
Gathering information from visitors to a web site with forms.

Advanced Tables
Using nested tables to create complex and interesting page layouts.

Document Templates
Creating and using standard template files for web pages.

Frames
Using Frames to control the content of pages areas.

Table of Contents
Creating a Site Map of a web site.

Search Form
Including a Search Form to allow users to search a web site.

FrontPage Component and Active Elements
Adding extra functions to your pages such as Hit Counters, Text Marquee, Time Stamps and Hover Buttons.
